Buddha Jayanti Celebrated in Florida



Newah Organization of America – Florida Chapter (NOA-FL) successfully concluded the Buddha Purnima 2558 celebration and its second anniversary on Saturday, May 10, 2014. NOA-FL in collaboration with Palm Beach Dharma Center (PBDC) organized a Buddha prayer and food offering at PBDC in Lake Worth, FL. Over fifty members from South Florida Nepalese community participated in the program.

The celebration began at 10:00 a.m. with welcome notes from PBDC coordinator Ms. Mary Anne Doycheck and NOA-FL president Mr. Raju Tamrakar. Program continued with the Sadhana and meditation on Buddha Shakyamuni, ManjuShree, Arya Tara, and Pancha Buddhas. A Jalapana (food offering snack) was held after the practice. The event concluded at 1:00 p.m. NOA-FL would like to thank its members and friends for coming together and upholding the teachings of the Buddha on this auspicious day. We would like to thank members who contributed for the food offering.
